My sister is 14 and is interested in learning guitar. My parents are already forking out for piano and violin lessons though so could she actually just teach herself? It's her birthday soon and I was thinking of going in with our other sister to buy her a guitar but I really don't think my parents will be pleased if they need to pay for more lessons.

it is possible to learn but when your doing it by yourself you really have to be focused. i leart by myself so it can work. only advantage about lessons is that you wont pick up bad habbits which you can pick up when you learn by yourself!
