Hi all, I'm new to Drogheda and was wondering is there anywhere in the town for "auld wans" like me (i.e. 35+) to socialise. Would feel like a dinosaur in Earth, Fusion etc. Drogheda must have an equivalent of Sachs Hotel  There has got to be somewhere to meet the more mature ladies of Drogheda?

Jebus if 35 makes you an auld wan then I'm an old codger so!

Depends on what your looking for really. This is a good thread to read about pubs in Drogheda. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055072572

Personally (as an aul codger) I like The Mariner for a quite drink and Star for a late drink at the weekend. Welcome to Boards and Drogheda btw and less of the auld wan. ;)

Barocco's on west street is your spot. It's part of the Westcourt hotel and you'll hear locals call it "bridie macs" this is the old name for the bar. It's your standard disco bar, popular with 20 and 30 somethings.

Afterwards, for a nightclub, head to Storm opposite the earth. It's the same crowd as Barocco's. Or the Star and Crescent in Trinity Street is a popular late bar.

    Welcome to the town!
