Well i have a problem, can anyone help me. I spent $1200 on a pc I think its a 386. I can't get it to load my cd XP. I put it in the 5.5 slot, went right in no problem, but when I engaged the latch it made this funny sound. I took the cd out and it was scratched. I used one of the cd polishers and got it back to almost new. I have an Activation number but just can't get it to load the cd, any helpful suggestions.
Oh yeah, I am doing and upgrade from windows 3.1, don't really need to, but thought what the hell. I deserve to roll like this!!

A certain well-known hotel runs their computers off Windows 3.1.
    Works great!

    1. Have you tried turning it off and on again?
    2. Are you sure it's plugged in?

I did have someone who wanted to run windows 3.11 on an XT with 512KB ram.
( yes its possible, and you can use the CGA driver from windows 3.0 if you don't even have EGA - you install on a different machine and copy back to the XT WIN /D:T IIRC)

Things can be humourous without being particularly funny.
