Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey all,

Just looking at the new belkin wi-fi phone that allows you to access skype and use skype out providing you have wi-fi access.

Can anyone recommend it? also I am going travelling at the end of the year, would you think this is a good gadget to have?

    Thanks

Do you not need to be able to connect to a wireless network to use it? Also the network must be with no security or for you to know the WEP or WPA key to connect.

    Regards

I have one and it's a great gadget to have but you might be disappointed with it if you have traveling in mind.

A major weakness of the phone is that it doesn't have any kind of web browser interface. If you're traveling around you'll probably want to use wi-fi hotspots when you find them. Lots of hotspots, maybe most these days, require you to log in or purchase credit through a web interface before you can connect.

The phone can't do this. So you're limited to networks that are totally open or encrypted networks which you are given the key for.
