Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just seen a post in another thread and thought this may be a good time to bump this.

Just for the benefit of anyone only starting to read the last page here please post the rate of contributions only. We dont want discussion on them.

    Cheers.

    Fingal County council:

    231.1 sq. M

    €27,419

That was at last years rate of €154 per sq. M

it has now come down to €143 per sq. M

We have not commenced building yet but will bein a month or two.
So it will come down a couple of thousand.

    Kerry County Council:

    Roads: nil

    €500 in galway

    granted in late '06

    €1100 to water scheme

    own sewage

Also have to give first 3m of frontage, not sure if this is commonplace

some of the figures quoted are shocking

    I'm paying €17k in Meath! 2850 sqf. 2 storey.
Should I question it? (not paid yet)

Dr. Nick, apologies only noticed your post now.

Here is a link to Meath Co Co development contributions page. The excel workbook has all the relevant contributions listed. It is worth a look, to verify you are not being overcharged.

But from the figure you quoted, I would guess you are classified as Rural - serviced sites
    >=200 m2
    ?

I'm DLRCOCO too, except new build so €7.5k, just wondering if you (or anyone else) knows if you need to pay this upfront (wording seems to suggest this) or any way of deferring payment until after the build?

    Thanks
    Simon

  • Registered Users Posts: 144 ✭✭rodred

    Hi Simon,

we were a new build also, we bought the side garden of a house.
7.5K is very good for you, the 15k killed us, i negotiated a payment plan
with the council so we paid the 15k over the period of 6months during the build.
we had to pay 2.5k approx upfront as the 1st payment, and then had about 4 or 5 other payments along the way. hope this helps.

I have heard of people claiming back part of there contributions, anyone know
anything or anyone that has been successful in doing this???

    cheers
    Rob

Fingal County Council - house proposed is 286sqm and the development contribution levy on this is.....wait for it......

40,898.00 - and yes, that is not a typo!! 143 euro a square metre!

  • Registered Users Posts: 23 Augusta11

Hi Uptowngirly, we are in a similar position about to apply for PP in Fingal for a 2,800sq ft build. We were hoping that the contribution levy might have been reduced this year. ( we're not holding our breath! ) It was suppose to be updated on the Fingal website in January but it still hasn't!
I'm just wondering have you been told by Fingal council that the contribution levy fee is still €143 per sq metre for 2011?

Its an extreme amount to have to pay especially compared to other counties

256m2 in rural Co Clare, permission granted in 2011 - €485. Increased by 2.2% in 2012 adding €10.

Own well cost €2800 + pump €1600. Own waste will be septic tank and percolation, no treatment plant.

Feel sorry for others around the country.

surely an indication of post 'property tax' development contributions.

Nope. The figures are set down in the development plan and you know the figures before applying. Build a smaller house to get lower contributions.

3.50 per sq metre in co galway along with 1,000 euro base fee. Works out at 1,800 odd for 231sq metre house. Looks a bargain compared to rest of country.

About €15.65 per sq metres in West Cork House size is s out 2300sq feet and contribution is €3350

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,067 ✭✭✭368100

€2400 towards road improvements and €400 towards community amenities???

    Rural co louth

The road that the house is on is in a very bad state. Approx 25 other houses use the road too. Is it wishful thinking to expect the council to do something with the road after contributions are paid? I know two others that paid them and nothing was done.....Road hasn't been touched in about 20 years.

Rural county kilkenny dormer bungalow, garage, waste water treatment, polishing filter and all ancillary siteworks €4925.

Is cheque the only way to pay this fee? Invoice and information on the website don't specify available ways to pay this.

I have paid in 3 stages over the phone via debit card previously.
    (Cavan Co Co)
They were happy and there was no minimum payment
