Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My PC powered off a couple of times, i think it's since I put a bad HD in, it also blue screened but I missed what it said, windows told me it powered off because of a serious hardware issue but didn't give me any more info, suggested I go back to the hardware supplier

are there any logs anywhere where I can see what the bluescreen said or why it powered off ?

    many thanks in advance

    What OS is it

Did you just add a new hard drive

Sounds like the PC might be overheating

Could be a power issue either

try removing the Hard drive presuming it is extra and see if the problem goes away

o yea it's vista, I tried adding a hard drive but it appeared to be dead, the os wouldn't boot with it in so i removed it , it's switched off a couple of times since, it's been running for a while now so maybe it's ok, just wondered if there were any logs I could take a look at

to rule out hardware problem switch off, wait a minute and boot up and run the manufactures diags or

run eventvwr.exe to see the event log, but that will only tell you if it shut down gracefully, if it crashed the event log would crash too, and besides you'd normally see a blue screen of death

boot up in safe mode and leave it sitting there , then try some benchmark app to stress it , if that then check cooling

2 things you could look at in vista

Go to the control panel and then Performance Information and Tools go to advanced tools and then the reliability and performance monitor you could also generate a system health report

or back in Control Panel have a look at Problem Reports and solutions

If it is a Software issue you might find it there

but it sounds like a overheating issue
You could open it see how much dust and dirt is blocking up the fans etc make sure no cables are stopping a fan from turning etc
