Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Vista with 4GB ram

Hey I have recently moved from win xp to vista and it comes as no suprise that vista is a real resource hog. Even with 2GB of ram and a c2d e6600@3ghz, applications do not run as smooth as they did in xp. There seems to be constant hdd usage when doing anything in vista.
Would putting another 2GB of ram in my pc make much difference?
Would vista with 4GB ram run as smooth as XP with 2?

How long have you it installed? It could be just indexing your files for searching. It does this for the first few days and makes it run very slowly. If this is the case once it is done performance will be better.

    8gb might work :D

Get O and O defragger seems to help stop the massive HD Usage from the page file. Some tweaks on tweaktown to manage the page file, which seems out fo control.

I havent used Vista in a while but that did help and i had 2gb ram and still do on XP.

I don't think Vista will even acknowledge 4GB RAM. But I think it'll run fine on 3.2GB :D

    32bit vista won't but 64bit will.

I'm running the 64-bit edition(supports 128GB+). It's installed 1 week now so I think it should be finished indexing as the box is on 24/7.

I am thinking of getting the 64bit myself! How much ram are you using?
