Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know people do stupid things for football like go to a 2nd leg of a Champions league game 2000 miles away after losing the 1st leg 5-0 :(

Or changing your name to help your pub team.

or got a tattoo of Andy cole ina newcastle shirt 3 weeks before he signs for Man utd?

Anyone named their kids Stevie G?

Anyone know anyone like John or ever do anything seriously stupid for a football team?

John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood is his full name. AKA John the Song or Westie.

John is probably one of the most famous non celebrity football fans in the country and the feelings towards him are pretty mixed. TBH, he can be a bit of an embarrassment at times and does get a lot of abuse from other Pompey fans, that said, his dedicaion to Pompey is amazing. When Millwall had to play certain games behind closed doors, Johnnie was facing the prospect of missing his first Pompey games for about ten years, so the local radio station got him a press pass so he could sit in the press area and therefore watch the game.

Not only has he changed his name, he is covered in Pompey and England tattoos and I think he has "Portsmouth FC" tattooed inside his botom lip:eek:

Incidentally, the way he can manage to get to all Pompey's games, is that he worls in his parents bookshop, not exactly the sort of job you would expect :D

Tom the Gom ftw. The greatest match-attending-without-seeing-a-kick-of-a-ball fan in the history of world football. The guy would talk you to sleep, then wake you to ask for a euro to get "home".
