Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If anyone's watching the Chelsea match, the funniest thing just happened. There was mics around so you can hear the fans and stuff. The ball was dropping to Sidwell, about 30 yards out, and you could hear this kid screaming 'No, No!!!' It was hilarious :)

I only watched the second half but Chelsea were crap, deserved to lose. Fulham could easily easily have won it.

Actually he's somehow got 3 points after conceding 7 goals! Legend!

Scored just at the end. Probably got an assist or two as well.

Reading should get a bonus point for conceding seven goals.

It depends what you're after I suppose. If you want loads of goals in the absence of any proper defending, watch it. I see as much skill in good defending as good attacking. If I want loads of goals, I'll go and watch a half decent striker in the Phoenix Park. Just cos a game has a big scoreline doesn't mean a great game. If that was the case, we could change the rules to double the size of the goals or play without keepers.

It's not obvious to those who cant wait to see it cos it was 7-4...

I was joking mate. Obviously the defending must have been awful, but it would still be entertaining to watch. But yes, I agree that watching great defenses can also be entertaining.

Were you watching? I'll take a stupid open 11 goal game over a dull 0-1 any day (hands in Liverpool Supporters Club card! :p)

Confirmed: Depressed Fracture of the Cheekbone, surgery tonight.

Birmingham all over United here - 69% possesion. We're lucky to be at 0-0. Only silver lining is that Tevez is looking great whenever he is on the ball.

Giggs off, Saha on. Which usually means that Saha will score.

Edit: Rooney shot cleared off the line!

Given should have got it. Fair enough it was a great free kick but the ball must have travelled 30 yards in a straight line, no swerve. Given was standing on that side of the goal and had a clear view the whole way. Should have got a hand to it. He can be forgiven (pardon the pun) after his save in the 1st half from Elano which should have went in. It's like that film Final Destination...

 You have to be joking. Surely the fact that it was hit to the keeper's side and he still couldn't get it just highlight's how great a hit it was.

You'll be telling me next it's the keeper's fault for this one as well -

Anyone think the dark jerseys both pompey and reading were wearing had anything to do with high scoring like ferguson said when united lost 6-3 to southampton!

    Maybe, for Given.

I think a taller good goalie would have gotten to it, I'd have expected VDS or Cech to save it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭ROCKMAN

Don't think there is a keeper in the world who would have save it .
On " Goals on Sunday " They showed that the ball moves again about 8 feet in front of Given

Nope, definitely 3-1. We were 3-0 up at the break and United won the second half 1-0.

There was a different match that was 6-3.

The Dell used to somewhat of a bogey ground for United.

    Correct
    3-1 (changed strips ) 95/96 season
    6-3 was the 96/97 season...
This result came in between a 0-5 hammering by newcastle 7 days before and a home lost to Chelsea 1-2 (League)
Oh and throw in a mid week lost in europe at home to europe giants fenerbahce 0-1
Was a great few weeks to be a utd fan

    Ps we won the LEAGUE

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,426 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

and we still won the league that year! was a poor season for the rest, no matter how bad we played, they just didn't take advantage.
