    Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone can help me regarding pay for resource teachers for Primary level. I've been looking around the net but cannot find exact details about this.

I'm a qualified Secondary teacher and am starting a position as a resource teacher in a primary school on Monday. I've read that it's €42 for qualified teachers and around €27 for non-qualified teachers.

Am I considered qualified for €42 as I'm a secondary teacher? And do you get paid any extra for having a masters as a resource teacher?

Many thanks if anyone knows, I've been unable to find this out for sure.

I haven't been able to find it on the INTO website which talks about pay for primary teachers.

Are you working in the school for the year?

It doesnt work on an hourly rate at primary level. Its all daily rate stuff. I know of people with the secondary HDip who have managed to get the qualified daily rate for primary subbing.

If you go over 40 days ( I think its 40 ) then the setup changes and you get slightly less per day but its spread over the full week.. if that makes sense.

Yes, it's until June. Starting next week. It's divided between a number of schools and my hours are subject to change. As in, they are trying to add more between a number of schools to bring them up to 22 if possible.

But I'll get paid more for being a secondary teacher even on a daily rate or however they work it out?
    Thanks
