Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sounds to me like an issue with your graphics card with the live cd. I've heard of a few issues with ATI cards and Ubuntu.

You could try the Alternative CD and do a text based install of the OS. After you have the OS installed you could configure the settings for your graphics card.

You'll find more information on the ubuntu forums http://www.ubuntuforums.org. You're not alone in having problems with loading the live cd, there's plenty of threads with issues similar to yours. Do a search for "live cd wont load" or something similar, and you should get somthing pointing you in the right direction.
