    Hey lads
I'm bringing a few of my friends to tullamore for their birthdays. They are all students and not made of money but i still want to show them the nicest places at the best value. Looking for the best restaurants and pubs in tullamore, but they have to have great wheelchair access and a comfortability in moving, as my mate kate is in a chair, and don't want her to have a crap birthday or feel intimidated or claustrophobic, as can happen sometimes.

What makes it worse is its a saturday nite so town will be packed, as expected.
Have booked the wheelchair accessible Days Hotel. was hoping for a nice restaurant first and then a great pub, both wheelchair friendly for the 8 of us to have a laugh. Someone said Canton was wheelchair accessable and cheap, and that the wolftrap was wheelchair friendly and great for a few drinks after...

    All help greatly appreciated.

Definately recommend the wolftrap, everything is on one level..would recommend getting in early enough although as the place ususally fills up it!

Best pubs are Brewery Tap and then on to the Wolftrap> Wolftrap is free in on a sat night (as its a disco-bar, not a nightclub) but as advised, you're best to get in earlyish. The Tap is fantastic but can be claustrophobic on Sat nites even for 200 lb rugger buggers> Although there's one or two regulars in wheelchairs but she's a gutsy girl and she knows everyone. basically, people in Tap are the best in the world but sometimes its physically impossible to move. Maybe start with a few drinks there, Paul Bell & Co are the business, then go for meal and then go to Wolftrap. As other poster said, its on one level and thats important. Loughreys at top of town is very popular also, modern building, great pub and good nightclub, tenner in after 11 on a Saturday. Loughreys Bar is like Wolftrap but less frenetic after 11, Loughreys niteclub is your usual nightclub, 18-30 etc. Wolftrap is more 25-35 and sounds like hits from the years etc. Always great craic but don't expect a nightclub epopping experience!

A number of great restaurants on Harbour Street, Tullamore, thats the street facing Wolftrap at the traffic lights. So you could go for drinks in Digans (close by), meal on Harbour St (best conventional restaurants unless you're seeking Indian in which case go to Yaadgar, Gul is an absolute gentleman), then off to Wolftrap for a great night out. Huge smoking area too, which is a highlight for some !!
