First time posting on this website, only discovered this website about a month ago. I have a Trek 5000 bike which is just over a year old. I am a leisure cyclist and I have done over 4,000kms this year on various long distance charity cycles.
It is now time to replace my Bontrager tyres, only I dont know which tyres to go for, different people have given me different opinions eg. Michelin, Continental etc.. So any opinions would be appreciated .
Also, I am considering up grading my Bontrager Select whells over the winter months, again again I am looking for advice on different makes, value for money, internet addresses etc..
One last question, I am looking to buy the Discovery channel jersey and shorts on the net but any of the usual sites(Probike, chain reaction) do not stock them. Does anybody know a website where they can be purchased.
I know that the issue of new tyres/wheels has been dicussed before on this website, but I would appreciate any advice as I am not very well versed on bike parts etc..

I think the continental GP4000's on the cyclesuperstore site (30 euro each instead of the usual 40) are excellent both in terms of value and performance. A lot of people will talk about Vittoria Corsa's, Michellin Pro 2, Continental Attack / Force and even the Hutchinsons and truth be told they are all very fine tires, But the GP4000's are going for a good price so I gave them a go and wasn't dissappointed, they are light enough, durable and good value.

I also have attack/force on another set of wheels, they are decent too (a bit lighter), and I have Hutchinsons top of the range ones cannot recall the model, again no issues (watch out for the Ultralight hutchinsons, had them a couple of years ago, only lasted about 500 miles before they were worn out...).

My favourite tyres are the Hutchinson team series tyres they really do stand the test of time, great in all conditions and excellent puncture resistance plus they roll really nice. I have used michelin pro race, continental gps and the vittoria open corsa's none of which last or ride like the hutchinsons. With regard to wheels i would recommend the ksyrium elites for definite they may be a little pricey but i have mine for 4 years and they are bombproof they havent found the need to be trued, they are a really good buy.
Team Jerseys seem to be scarce these days for some reason, i was looking for some when the tour was one but not even any of the local bike shops were stocking anything decent.

team discovery channels sponsors have pulled out, so this is the end of that team. perhaps getting this kit will be tougher as a result?

I paid €70 for a discovery jersey in my local bike store for the 2006 jersey which in my opinion is the best looking one.

i was looking for hutchions tyres recently onlin but could'nt find any, just go with
michelin pro race or contiental gp
