Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What is it saying? Any chance of a screen shot? Does it look like a genuine Windows Error window? It could possibly be malware causing this.

It's from an Window XP from a genuine Window Error Message.

The whole computer frozen after it was turned on for 10 minutes.

Some registry corruption can't be recovered from as reinstall might inherit the same corrupt setting :(

very generically , more info on the error would help

    Boot up in safe mode
Press F8 to get the menu and see if more stable. Don't worry it will boot up in normal mode the next time.

If you have XP you may be able to use system restore to roll back the system to when it was working previously, this is a better and safer option than trying to fix the registry as a botched job would prevent you booting into safe mode ie. game over.
