Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTE Showing Celtic tonight, UTV showing ManYoo.

    Who are RTE showing tomorrow?

I have not got Sky, landlord is too measly to get it in.

Pretty attacking lineup from Roma there with Pizarro on the bench. De Rossi will have to play very deep and Aquilani and Perrotta will get forward at every opportunity and Totti, Mancini and Giuly won't offer much defensively. Should make for a good game.

Barca playing iniesta as a DMF with a front 3 of Henry Ronnie and Messi , Deco and Xavi behind them.

Marquez went off and Puyol came on for him

Italians obviously beg for mercy with their elbows.

Don't know how Roma have managed not to score.

Giggs is giving the ball to Anderson a few second too late every time... he'd be on a few runs otherwise.

So, was Perotta punched by C Ronaldo, or not? Looked it.

    :D

I'm gonna have to start throwing bets at 1-0 to United. Some good individual performances, Nani had a great game I thought, as did Ronaldo, and Tevez looked really lively when he came on. Rio had a blinder, he was immense. I was disappointed with Saha, he's the type of figure United have needed this season, but I don't think he led the line very well tonight.

Accidentally caught him with his elbow.

Nani was great, MOM performance with the assist and all. He showed his class tonight. Anderson looked promising when he came on too, if Giggs was a little quicker he woulda scored. Ferdinand was ****ing immense tonight.

United did a solid job tonight, 1-0. We let them have a few too many chances for my liking, but if Hargreaves was there, I think it would have been a quite comfortable victory.

I thought Nani tried hard and got into good positions, but i though his passing and final ball were generally poor, and just how weak is his back... down in agony clutching it at least 5 times a game!

I would give MotM to Rio.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

cant believe how overboard the praise for Nani is?! i honestly thought he was just alright, he still gave the ball away ALOT and utd were lucky not to be punished for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,467 ✭✭✭smemon

Yeah nani was average.. he set up the goal but held on to the ball too much..

He's a cross between ronaldo and o'shea at the minute imo.

Anyway, great win for Utd.. all the pressure was on them going in to this and they deserved to win imo.

Never happy to see flicks and tricks at 1-0 up and that almost cost us with Roma's late chances..

Apart from that, i can't complain. Solid peformance and defence up until then.

Not much precision up front again but that's temporary, not permanent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Jesus I thought Nani was poor tonight.
Carrick just doesnt look the part to me.When oh when will Hargreaves be back.

I dont know what RTE were waffling about when they were complaining about Giggs not playing.Hes been in poor form all season and unusually for him looked like he hasnt been trying.

Ferdinand was far and away MOTM imo. Unbelieveable defending the time roma got through. Nani was alright, cuple of nice moves and a good assist but far too wasteful.

Our own lads (Arsenal) were alright against Steau. They made a job of it but having said that it was the type of game last year they would have drawn.
