    Anyonme know of a place in or around cork that does helicoiling?

    I would think a proper rethread would be a better option than that helicoil stuff?

    Kelly engineering in Midleton should do anything you ask them, but they are not cheap.

    Do Murphys in Douglas St still do them? Havent got that done in a long time :rolleyes:

    dunno much about it really, someone recomended it on another forum

    will ring around and get recomendations from engeneer type people anyways

    A helicoil has to be replaced each time you screw in/out. A much better option is a 'threaded insert'. Do a google on it and you'll find out what that is. Kennedy's engine rebuilders next to Union Chandlery on Penrose Quay sell them, and can install them too. They'd be one of the few places I'd trust to do it.
