Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Personally if I saw people burning effigies of me, it'd encourage me to get the hell out.

I reckon Rafa already had the money from Gerrard's sale used up in his head. Gerrard staying threw a huge spanner in his works.

I think it shows his drop in form in the way there was very little or no speculation linking him to the Reals, barcas. milans etc recently.

We got on with it when Fowler left, when Owen left, let's hope he has a decent season and we cash in again.

wouldnt have thought that. More likely there is no speculation because he signed a contract extension somewhat out of the blue at the start of the summer and has said he is there for life.

Also his poor form is more likely to do with the broken toe he played for England and us with? Remember, his form was outstanding before that.

Expect him to be back to his best soon.

yes he is overrated by the english press as is Rooney,C.Ronaldo as every decent spanish player is overhyped by their national press as is every half exciting player by every national media outlet.football is now a 24 hour cycle and players need to be hyped to feed it,Kerlon,Robinho etc are just some of the hyped south americans who suffered from this.Next Pele, next raul, next maradonna....everybody is the next somebody and its all false.

Steven Gerrard is not the next souness,he is not zidane,he's not as good as cesc, essien or even alonso(when on form) but he is vital to Liverpool. He cant control a game, doesnt have what rafa would call "game intelligence" but he is powerful and inspires those around him(similar to Brian O Driscoll in rugby)by his goals or 5 minute spurts or superhero stuff he does.He trys ridiculous "hollywood" passes which invariably fail but the one that does come off is signalled as a sign of his genuis by his supporters(usually led by Mr Gray).
He has played a vital role in the history of liverpool and he will be fondly remembered but he is not the most important player at the club and Carra should be captain.
Before anyone accuses me of otherwise im also a liverpool fan
