I've located and am interested in, a used Porsche from the UK.... I've found two, but to get a VRT quote, the local office has to ring/fax Rosslare, and it could be up to a week to get an answer.

Problem is, the car(s) might be gone by then.......So, what to do? I don't suppose anyone's brought in a 93 Porsche lately I could gauge it off...?? I've been looking for ages for this spec, and I'll have the pot frittered away if I don't buy something sensible ( ) soon.........

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I rang a couple of weeks ago about an 86 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet, and they called me back with a quote of €5,500 later that same day. Thing is, i've heard elsewhere that those figures are non-binding, ie when you actually turn up with the car they then start assessing its worth. If I were you, i'd budget for 30% of the actual value of the car here, and with a bit of luck you'll actually end up paying a bit less than that.

Anan - yes, just spoke to someone who just brought in a 95 993, and he paid just over 11k, so that sounds about right.

Well, not 'right', but you know what I mean.......
