    Hi,

Is it possible to boot off my SATA drive?

I had to buy a SATA adapter as my PC is IDE only (Athlon XP 2600+ based system):-

and i bought this HDD as i will use it in my new system next year:-

IT doesn't appear in the BIOS and it doesn't appear in my boot program (Boot IT Next Generation - brilliant clean multi boot program).

It only appears when i boot into an OS though...

Am i resigned to using this a data drive and not an OS drive?

Any help or suggestions would be helpful :)

It looks like you to get a BIOS update. Go to your motherboard manufacturer's website but if you screw up when updating your motherboard bios then your motherboard could end up dead.

If you can't see it in the BIOS then that don't look too good.

Don't think you can boot off a PCI slot, unless it's SCSI.

    That kinda sucks then :(

Will update my BIOS like Galen said and see if there is any change too...

If not then I have a large new DATA drive :O
