Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Charlton Athletic and Ireland midfielder has been named the best midfielder in the Coca-Cola Championship by the league’s official statistics body.

The Actim Index has revealed that Reid has completed more passes – 138 – than any other player in the division this season.

His success rate in that area helps him to top spot in the midfield statistics category over the first six weeks of the new season.

Reid also scored high in the number of shots on target, number of crosses and a tally of four league goals in his nine Championship outings.

I think he's by far and away the most technically gifted and intelligent Irish player atm. Nobody's close to him in those departments.

Pardew made him captain of Charlton in the summer when there's probably a few more obvious candidates. He was Charlton's star player in the Premiership last season whenever he was fit and is easily good enough for that level.

Good player, no doubt, but he was hardly ever fit.

I don't keep tabs on the Championship, has he been fit all this season.

I'm reckoning no, because he hardly played for Ireland.

Either that, or the manager is a silly sausage for not picking him.

Yeah he's been fit all season. Not playing him against Slovakia was just Stan showing himself up again. Ireland had the ability to dominate possession against Slovakia with Reid in midfield, we don't without him.

once he stops eating all the pies he is one of the best Irish footballers out there

last time i saw him he seemed to have trimmed down quite a bit and i don't think it's much coincidence that at the same he has regained his form

He's always been a class act since the days himself and Thompson broke through around the same time at Forest. He was creating goals for fun those days.

He actually reminds me of an overweight Wes Hoolahan.
