Bang on. The quad core won't be as fast for gaming as the 6850 dual core which is the same price, but more games are going to pick up multiple cores over the next two years so you can't really go wrong.

Cheers for that, a few concerns though.
While im configuring this rig on komplett they dont give me an option of vista 64 bit which is what i need for 4 gig ram.
Also maybe the psu is a bit overkill? maybe a 700 is enough?
I was thinking of going with a Seasonic M12 700W psu instead, what yas think?

Those DVD Drives- their IDE ones you have there. SATA would be better...

Komplett have a special offer on 2 x 500GB Samsungs/Baracudas at the moment. Went for the Samsung spinpoints as apparently theres less chance of them turning up DOA.

Thanks all for your valuable input, ive just ordered the following.
I think ive gone with pretty good gear with this build.
I went with the spinpoint HDs after reading some good reviews.
Also switched to the LG drive as it is sata which you guys advised.
Any need for additional cpu cooling? If so what is advised?
    I wont be overclocking.

    LG DVD±RW burner, GSA-H62NRBBB, SATA,Dual, Black OEM

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate English OEM DVD 32bit

I think im correct in saying with the 32bit vista i can use 3,25 gig of the ram.
I can then go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/64bit.mspx and get my dvd to go 64 bit.
Having said that some folk say i will get this dvd with vista ultimate?
Either way i should get to use 3.25 gig until i go 64 bit?

"That depends". Trouble is that 32 bits are used to address all of the hardware in your machine - hence a maximum of 3.2 gigs ram. Should be there or thereabouts though.
