Ladies and Gentlemen of Charlesland Woods,

Tomorrow evening, Tuesday the 4th of December, at 7pm in Charlesland Golf Club sees the 3rd Annual General Meeting of Charlesland Wood Management Company Limited. Along with the more formal matters to be conducted at this meeting, during ‘AOB’, Residents will be afforded the opportunity to raise issues and question the officers and servants of the Company about anything that concerns the management of the Estate and the running of the Company. Irrespective of whether you have a comment to make, your attendance is encouraged, particularly if you have not previously attended. The AGM offers the opportunity not only to gain an insight in to important matters concerning your Estate but also to meet your neighbours in a social setting.

There are some contributors to this forum who would have you attend tomorrow nights meeting with pitch forks and burning torches. These individuals would have you believe that a ‘them-and-us’ hierarchy exists. They would also have you believe that if you shout loud enough, the Management Company, and the thorny issue of Management fees, satellite dishes and the like, would simply go away. Nothing could be further from the truth.

However, your voice is important, and if you have something to say, then let it be heard tomorrow evening. Your contribution and attendance tomorrow is essential to ensure the continued efficient management and upkeep of your Estate.

    *puts torch and pitchfork away*

    Well said that man.

This is the only opportunity afforded to the residents and/or owners to express an opinion on the issues that affect their homes/investments in an open forum.

Given the Fees/Refund malarkey and the fact that the Wood is likely to be the first phase of Charlesland to be taken into Council control (if not this year, then possibly next), it's important to be aware of exactly what's going on.

    Nowt really.

Minutes of last year's AGM and accounts/budget approved.

Brief debate about the refund issue, upkeep of the common areas and traffic management.

    New committee elected.

    Nothing too contentious.

Woodser, if he did appear, didn't ignite the fireworks promsed.
