Leaving Cert timetable 2008

Worked out pretty good for me. Only have two full days on the first Monday and Tuesday. Have to wait until the last day for Applied Maths though, but I knew that would be the case.

works nicely, only the 9th is my full day, but I have a week with only two exams (physics & engineering) which gives me decent study time

Ok so I'm finished on friday the 13th (hmm hope that doesn't work against me)

A lot of my friends wont be finished till the 20th due to doing engineering, looks like its gonna be ok for me

I'm not all too happy about having English and Home Ec on the same day though.

Well, obviously it's going to be easier for you seen as you don't have to go through "Traditional" English haul, so I'm glad I didn't have that timetable, I pity the LC'ers from now on in, a falsified easier version.

Providing the timetable holds true for next year then it looks like I'll have friends finishing more than a week before I do.

I am liking the timetable. Only one exam the first 3 days.

2 on the Monday, Tuesday. One on Wednesday, Thursday and finish with Accounting. Not to bad.

I think its a good idea coz the way it used to be really takes it out of you in the first few days. Although i am a bit jealous that the rest of us had to go through it! These kids wont know what it means to do the REAL Leaving Cert! Ha.

Not sure how well known it is but for the GCSE English Literature a few years back (and possibly/probably still today) one could bring in one's set texts, including with annotations! Not sure about A levels. But GCSEs are important as most people drop English after that to "specialise".

I always felt it I could have done more useful things with my time (including study some of the other subjects) than learn off English poetry. I didn't bother learning off anything for Irish as just doing pass; it would really have annoyed me if I'd had to learn off Irish poetry (I think we were supposed for the old Inter Cert but wasn't chasing an A in it so don't think I bothered much with that). I think there are more important things in life and the education system should recognise this.

By the way, have seen quite a few letters on the topic of the Leaving Cert timetable in the papers recently.

i've 8 days between my 2nd last and last exam!! french, then engineering on the last day! although it means im doing the full time, gives me plenty of time to study for that!:)

Really wish mine was like that, really should give you a good chance at doing really well in engineering

Same as that considering its the only full day I have...and those two subjects are possibly my worst...

true, no excuses for not doing well there.

does mean that from the 1st wednesday to the next, i have 9 exams!!!!!:(:eek::( english 1 n 2, maths 1 n 2, irish 1 n 2, geography, business and french...... not nice at all!!!!! defo no studying been done those nights....... plenty of rest in order!!!!:cool:

I'm glad the English papers aren't together this year. The first time I took the exam my hand seized up and I couldn't do the single text question (I worked backwards). I'm not too happy about English and chemistry being together. Dunno about you guys but I got nervous last year and answered every question. That was a lot of writing.

It sounds like you're jealous. Don't be so childish and be glad they finally saw sense. If anything, be pissed off that the content in many subjects is getting easier just to make to make the statistics look more favourable. The content of the English exam was a joke last year.

Maths *******d! when you say its your final year, have you tried before? I got a letter when i was in fourth year 'cos of my junior cert results (100% ) along with two of my friends, back in 2005-2006 for training days, needless to say, i didn't get very far... Still brilliant fun!

Im finished the 13th but have a few half days and one full day off on wednesday the 11th, not too bad at all like.

Thats gonna be a good weekend but it will be funny thinking about all the people who will have to spend it studying

Yeah this is my third year doing it, I got invited back after my JC results in fourth year too.
