    Review:

    Mamoru Oshii's futuristic animated masterpiece, 'Ghost In The Shell', is the perfect film to experience on DVD. Seamlessly merging traditional cel animation with the latest computer graphic imagery, this stunning sci-fi spectacle has broken the boundaries of mainstream animation with its detailed artistic direction and uniquely intelligent story line. Aided by an esoteric Kenji Kawai score, 'Ghost In The Shell' took the world by storm in 1996, introducing a new wave of Japanese animation through its mesmerzing cinematic expression. A movie that questions our own human existence in the fast-paced world of the information age, this remarkable, award-winning, cyber-tech thriller has gone on to become one of the leading Japanese animation films of all time.

    * Creator biography

    I wouldn't pay that for it.....

    Of topic, I know but just incase someone was thinking of getting it, I'd advise them to choose something else..

    I must ask too im...LOST, why do you think this dvd is not worth the rather meagre fee?

    Okay, anime is not for everyone and if it's not to your liking, that's perfectly fine. Free choice and all that jazz.

    But to dismiss it as something no one should consider is a little unfair. It looks beautiful, keeps you thinking afterwards and is an accepted classic of the genre. I for one would recommend it as a good introduction to the world of Japanese Anime.

    However, like I said, it's not for everyone.

    Oh, after re-reading my post I apologise for the rather vague and rather crappy comment.

    Anyway, I didn't like this film. I heard it was excellent but I was very much disappointed in it tbh. Maybe I went into it with too high of expectations as I've seen Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke before Ghost in a Shell.

    While watching Ghost in the Shell, at 5pm might I add, I actually fell asleep! I was just bored watching it.

    Anyway, that's my own personal preference. And like crackity_jones said, freedom of choice and all that. And it's only a fiver.

    I thought you were going to point out that the standard edition came "free" with an anime magazine a while ago.

    IMHO it's a pretty good anime that stands up to re-watching well.
