hey guys -- Neverwhere here. The ex ****head and I got into a fight yesterday. Apparently he's going to get a car, and it's unfair of me to tell him that he really should sacrifice that for the kid because its going to mean he has no money to send us for the necessaries. Go figure. It got heated, and as a result all my email accounts, msn few sites he knows I frequent have been hacked and passwords have been changed. Hooray! Bitter explanation over.

lolli -- am so excited for you!! I can't wait for my scan!

Seriously guys, my kid is actually a giant or superman. One or the other. At 15 weeks I felt first really strong movement, saw the baby stretch or kick...created this insane angle on my stomach and felt the first kick...which was really strong might I add. The beginning of week 16 and other people can feel baby flutters and baby kicks! I had 2 cups of tea and a bar of chocolate....more caffeine than ive been taking while pregnant and the kid was kicking away.
Apparently its reallllly early for stuff like that. Seriously hope this isn't the beginnings of ADHD. haha

post a helpdesk thread and ask them to reset you password. He could use the account for trolling.

You should be able to get your MSN and email back via your security questions.

Sounds like a really mature guy I must say.

Oh tell me about it. This child is the biggest blessing...one of the reasons being he showed his true colours before we got to the alter. Hey I'll be broke, but at least i won't be broke and divorced!

Thanks for the advice kitty...help desk completely slipped my mind until you mentioned it, but I emailed a mod as soon as I found out. Trolling was first thing on my mind too!

Also, I tried all of the above for my email. He's smarter than that, he must have gone and changed them as all info i enter is incorrect and the email addy I put down as my alternate email has also been hacked. Dead end!

    Hope you are well! xx

Well went for my scan. Place was packed no seats for anyone to sit down at all, craziness. Got called in brought DP with me and I said to the lady can I just bring my mam and 7 year old sister in for a minute. Got a grunt in response and was told to lie down on the bed. went through the scan. When they measured babies head due date came up as 25/12 and when they measured the legs they got 02/01! The date I have is 14/01. I asked her to make sure its a girl... another grunt. went through all the measurements, got a crap pic :( then asked her again about the sex. When she finished the scan she said of you asked about the sex put the scan back on for a sec and says yeah looks like a girl but she totally didnt want to tell me. I was really upset that she never responded to my request of my mam and sis to come in. I didnt ask again cos she didnt seem in good form!

Met the doc and midwife then. Have been given a scan for 28 weeks and 32 weeks. Both these were lovely. Have to meet a specialist in the coombe even though i'm having the baby elsewhere, have an appoinment for St vincents too so looks like i'll be going to 3 different hospitals. I currently have 6 appointments within a few wks of each other haha.

hey!! sorry I've been wondering how you were getting on mrs! I might not have got your last pm and I think Neverwhere is lost to me now, helpdesk says unless i can prove i am who i am with msn or email accounts etc they can't do anything for me. Bleh. I'll pm you in a bit! My lord, that is a rather large baby! Don't stress about it though, just focus on that little bundle of joy your going to have in your arms in a few weeks time. And you know, if you know its going to be a difficult labour there's nothing wrong with having an epidural. My mother has had a lot of difficult labours and kept popping kids out well into my teens and she usually went for the epidural, there's a lot of scare mongering about them at the moment, but they really aren't so bad. Just do what feels right for you, and do go back and have a chat with your midwife about the birth plan if you feel uncomftorable!
Yeah, baby worries me like crazy. It will have moments like that where its super active early on, and then it seems to go asleep for days at a time without a peep! Silly baby.

Lolli -- Glad everything with the baby is alright. And that's so exciting! A little girl! Were you hoping for a girl?
Sorry to hear about the woman doing the scan, that must have been so frustrating! hoping that the next one is a little more pleasant...and next time don't leave without getting what you asked for. :)

Most likely just implantation bleeding hun, seeing as your scans have been fine, try not to panic.. maybe go to the hospital if you're really worried, just for re-assurance Xx best of luck

Ring the EPU hun and ask them to see you. Just to be on the safe side.

Just ring Holles ST and they will prob ask you to go in to make sure everything is ok.
DO not be shy about going in there or ringing them.

As Moonbeam said, don't be shy, I just walked into the Rotunda when I was having problems and was seen with no appointment or anything..

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,173 ✭✭✭lolli

Cathy please go to the hospital and get yourself and the baby checked out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,458 ✭✭✭CathyMoran

Baby was fine - I totally freaked out when I saw the blood - they said that it was developing normally and I even saw it kick - do not regret going in though. There has been no more blood, so fingers crossed...they reasured me that if i get more symtoms to go in again.

Usually they say that if it's brown blood it's old blood left over from the period you missed and the implantation. My book says that blood should only usually indicate that anything is wrong if accompanied by cramping, but that you should always get any bleeding checked out as it's considered not normal during pregnancy.

Delighted that all was well and you saw your little one kicking without a notion of all the fuss he or she is causing :)

Delighted for you :) Thanks for updating us so quickly.

Thanks everyone - the thing is, it was red blood - was told that it can happen with the progesterone that I am on as it can cause irritation. My blood sugars are down at the moment so Shane and I are both up late making sure that the two of us are OK.

Delighted everything is ok. It must have been such a relief to see babs kicking away.
Healthy baby on 10 week scan = seriously reduced risk:)

Thanks, am still so scared though - we are both doing everything we can for our little one to have a chance - the kicking was adorable.

Glad to hear everything is ok Cathy. I think you'll need a holiday after the babs is born;)

Just read this now....bit of a mental few days. Anyway, I'm glad everything was ok. For what it's worth, my wife had bleeding around the same time (red also), got the scan, all was well and she's at 24 weeks now. As the others have said; A good scan at 10 weeks is a _really_ good sign.

Glad you're doing ok anyway. :)

I have my first hospital appointment today! Just getting ready for it now. I've got two really amazing friends who offered to alternate taking turns coming to all my appointments with me so I don't have to go alone. Excited, but at the same time sure it will be very boring a I have no idea what they do at a first hospital appointment...
Then again I have learned nothing about my baby is boring!

  • Registered Users Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

Wow, thats amazing, are you sure your not further gone than ten weeks, because a fetus doesn't develop its legs are not visible on a scan until well after 14 weeks!

My lad's legs were kicking away on my scan at 10+1.

    Not much has changed since!
