I was in the pub the other day and we all got to talking about going up, one of the lads I was with was talking about the old Limerick 95fm. The topic was about a DJ that worked there in the late 80's early 90s, his name is Dr. John Moloney, he used to do the morning show just before kids went to school, he would play the same song every morning but none of us can think of the full lyrics, all we have is (Let's all smurf togeather smurfing kind of weather) does anyone know the song I am talking about? It's driving me mad!!

(Let's all smurf togeather smurfing kind of weather) does anyone know the song I am talking about? It's driving me mad!!

When reading the words dunno about smurf? but it reminds
me of Crowded house? where the chorus
was "Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you"

    Walking round the room singing
    Stormy weather
    At 57 mt. pleasant st.
Now its the same room but everythings different
You can fight the sleep but not the dream
Things aint cooking in my kitchen
    Strange affliction wash over me
Julius caesar and the roman empire
    Couldnt conquer the blue sky
Theres a small boat made of china
    Going nowhere on the mantlepiece
Do I lie like a loungeroom lizard
Or do I sing like a bird released

    Chorus
Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you

    I thought his song was:

The sun has got his hat on hip hip hip hip hurray
The Sun has got his hat on and he's coming out today.

    I thought his song was:

The sun has got his hat on hip hip hip hip hurray
The Sun has got his hat on and he's coming out today.

Might be, but I know he played the smurf song every day!!

The peeps in the all things retro board may be able to help you
with the song name. They are usually fairly sharp and fast to reply
    with things like that.

John the man and Dr. John were two different people.

John the Man was John Frawley while Dr. John was John Moloney.

    How about this

    Song Title: Smurfing Summertime
From the album: Best of Friends - The Smurfs

Chorus: We little smurfs just love the summer
The sky is clear, the weather's fine
We're really glad, the winter's over
And we're all hack again in smurfing summertime

No need to saty indoors, we're always in the sun
Cause in the summertime the days are meant for fun
The trees are green, the sky is blue
And there is so much we can do

In winter, days are short and snow is on the ground
But summer days are long and full of summer sounds
    With flowers growing everywhere
The lovely scent of summer air

    [Chorus]
    [Chorus]

The birds are singing oh so sweetly in the trees
And butterflies and moths are flitting on the breeze
We try to catch each sunny ray
    On these smurfing summer days
