    Thursday October 18th at Wax

    This Thursday we welcome back Steve Rachmad for a record breaking 5th appearance at Electric City. Here's a brief history of Steve at EC:

    July 2003:

    We nervously awaited to meet one of our all time techno hero's and we weren't disappointed. An absolute gent, Steve played one of our favourite ever sets at the club that night when he decided to take us on a tour of his record collection by playing everything from Nik Kershaw to Joe Jackson to electro tracks from Anthony Rother and The Advent, much to the crowd's and our delight.

    March 2004:

    This time Steve decided to leave the electro at home in favour of a tougher more Scorp driven set. He chonked his way through tracks from Jeff Mills, Surgeon and the Advent much to the approval of Dublin's Anti Electro Mafia.

    December 2004:

    Ok so we've had techno and electro so what next? 'How about you play some classics next time?' we asked and he duly obliged with a set a Classic Detroit techno and we're not talking Strings of Life mixed in to the Bells this was a set filled with rare Dutch gems from the mid-90's and pioneering tracks from Rhythm is Rhythm and Model 500 that brought a tear to the eye.

    March 2006:

    His last appearance at Traffic was part of his 20 years in techno tour, an epic achievement but a crap night which was one of the reasons that led us to move away from Middle Abbey Street. The poor turnout was a disappointment and made us look again at what we were trying to do with the club. Musically, it was dynamite - Steve is one of the best DJs we've had over no matter what style he turns his hand to and he rinsed out a selection of new and classic cuts. It was only ever a matter of time before we got to meet up again.

    October 2007:

    We haven't requested a specialised set from Steve this time so hopefully it will be a bit from all of the above which should keep the EC dancefloor happy! On opening duties again we have Dan Power who is fresh from causing havoc to the Tivoli sound system last Saturday.
