Is it possible to claim costs if you win a case in the family law court?

Of course you can. Costs are always at the discretion of the court. In family law however, it is often a Zero sum game.

So even if the court finds in your favour you can't recover the cost of solicitor or barrister fees?

Can happen. In a family situation,an award of costs to one party is the imposition of costs on the other. The overall family kitty is in the same nett position whether costs are awarded or not.
