97 astra, heaters not working ?

lads, my mates astra's heaters are bust, they only work on full wack (level 4 or whatever). any ideas??! everything else works...:p

... and the outside temp reads -40....

I think that's normal- I've never seen one where they've worked!!!

If the car has a pollen filter it may need changing.
