Is it time for the government to step in, buy the entire infrastructural setup back from Eircom, then setup a new semi state body which will take entire control of the national telephone infrastructure.

Surely this would be the best option, with every telephone service provider having a say alongside the government with this new company.

The gov have done something similar with Eirgrid, albeit, the ESB is still under state ownership.

Eircom have "plans" for doing stuff. It's just taking a long time for anything to happen. Would be nice if someone gave them a good old kick up the arse now and then.
