Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So I'm looking to get my hands on some NWA or WCW shows. Could anyone recommend to me which are the better shows? Say a list of around 10 would be good. I need to see me some more of this stuff. Thanks.

Starrcade 97 sums up a lot about WCW for me: some really very good undercard matches (Guerrero-Malenko, Benoit-Saturn, DDP-Henning), some useless filler featuring guys who weren't exactly on the card for their ability, and a hugely anticipated main event that could never have realisticly lived up to the hype given the condition of Hogan. Oh, and you also get to see Bishoff getting his ass handed to him, which was great.

obviously bash at the beach 1996 is a groundbreaking PPV in WCW history.

Much of the stuff circa May 1996 - December 1997 is similar; great undercards, god awful main events (exact opposite of WWE at the time).

If you can get your hands on WCW Nitro from May 1996 until December 1997 you would be onto a winner

none of the PPV/tv special stuff really stands out for me apart from certain matches (mysterio/dragon at World War3 1996, Funk/flair clash of champions 9, sting/flair Clash of champions 1). Booker and Benoits "best of seven series" in mid 1998 was fantastic

Whatever you do stay the hell away from Uncensored  Worst PPV ever, every year they got worse, lol

The first Starrcade was awesome, 1983 I think. 4 or 5 really good matches on it with Flair vs Harley Race as the main event. Can't think of any others right now

The Great American Bash from 1989 was good, main event of Flair vs Funk is a classic. If you can get the GAB from 1987, that's pretty decent. It's more of a highlights show than an actual event because they did a GAB tour back then. It's got a big varety of matches though, and two War Games matches I think

Starrcade 89 and 90 were very good too. 89 had a singles and a tag tournament with some real good matches with guys like the Road Warriors, the Steiners, Flair and Sting on it. 90 had a tag tournament and Sting vs the Black Scorpion

Starrcade 83 is freakin' awesome, Wrestle War 92 is also great. Great American Bash 87 for the first wargames matches, World War 3 96 for Rey v Ultimo, Souled Out 97 for the Syxx/Guerrero ladder match and Hog Wild 96 for the Malenko/Benoit match.

    Hope this helps,
    VR!
