Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I assume its a similar setup to Irish Broadband.

You need a wireless router and any wireless router should do.

Did you have to set up your network settings on your Pc or did someone from last mile do it for you?
If so I'm sure they left a letter or something with details on what IP configuration to use.

If not you can go to start->right click on network connections->properties->right click on Local area connection->properties->select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and click properties and you should see a screen like this:
    tcp_ip_config.gif

This contains all the info you will need to set up your wireless router to connect to your broadband.
You can pick one up in maplins/pc world or somewhere.

NOTE: If that last mile box connects via USB to your PC then it will require more effort to get it working.

Either way wireless networking is not really user friendly

It's a lastmile modem. As we've found out, I don't think the Xbox can connect to that box. It has no antennae and just connects wirelessly to the 'net, it's not a router.

Do you have something that you plug into your pc to get the wireless signal or is it like irish broadband pack where you plug the modem in through the usb plug??

If it is a modem with extra ports, you can get a router and connect it with a network cable to the modem, this will also work

Modem ---> Router --> Wireless signal to Xbox ( in the settings of the xbox networking, set everything to automatic)

If the PC has a wireless card you can use it as the connection point rather than the modem. Use it as a server for a home wireless network and turn on internet connection sharing.
