No problem on the Vodafone website logging in!
Logged in previously through the options on the home page!
    What now?

Right so if i understand you correctly, you can log into the vodafone website fine but when you try to use cabbage it tells you your login details are invalid? Is that correct?

Did you enter the details into cabbage exactly as you would on the vodafone site? On the program press more->manage logins, click on your login and click edit. Then tell me, is your phone number in the format 0871234567 in the phone number box and is vodafone selected? Also re-enter your password to be sure it's right and press save

Are there any special characters in your password, eg %&+$ etc or is it just letters and numbers?

Try searching this thread for an answer but maybe I'm using the wrong search words.

My question is, is there a way to export contacts from my pc to my mobile?

If i understand you, you want to export the contacts you have stored in cabbage desktop and put them into cabbage mobile.

If that's correct, no there is no way to do it but you shouldn't really need to. When you get to the page where you enter the phone number to send it to, if you click into the phone number text box as if you're about to type a number, you should be able to press options (or more or whatever it is on your phone) and select the option "add from contacts" or similar, which will let you pick a contact from your phone's contacts. The name won't appear but you can save it separately. Does that solve your problem?

    Re Cabbage Mobile:

    1) It seems that if you have sent a message to many recipients (in my case 10) the app will say "No destination number specified" if you try to send to that batch of numbers again via the Destination number recent list.

    2) On Symbian phones, could you make it so that "Add" is one of the options when clicking the D-pad middle button in "Send to many"? It would make it easier to add a new number.

    Thanks.

I'll take a look at that, thanks for reporting it

    Yes i could and i will :)

    Thanks alot mate... :)

    A few other things:

I would like to sort the cabbage accounts numerically so that 085xxxxxx comes before 086 even though 086 might have been added earlier.

On the accounts screen, could you make the right soft key option be Back (without saving) instead of Exit? I have mistakenly clicked Exit at numerous occasions.

When you send to many numbers at once, the name mapped to each number is transferred down to the list with ticked boxes in front of them, however when I send to these numbers, the names do not follow on to that screen, nor to the recent numbers list.

Would it be possible to delete numbers on the recent numbers list one by one instead of all or nothing?

The option to have a signature added automatically when sending to certain numbers would be nice too. would come in handy when you use a webtext acct which is not your main number and you want to mention something like "reply-to: 0833333333" at the end of the text.

Should I just log in again maybe? Is that possible!

just used the get numbers from my meteor site to populate my cabbage phone book, very snazzy. keep up the good work. I'll donate some more when I'm not so much in debt.
I also got on to meteor to get them to add in an upload/download for phone book stuff... doubt they will reply.

it's not a permanent solution. i've made some modifications to the script and i'm testing them at the moment.

did cabbage just tell you that a charged message was sent? that's what happens when it reports back 0 messages left because o2 will allow you to keep sending when all your messages are gone. it must be a problem with the modifications made to the script which i'll take a look at shortly. so if it was just that cabbage said it was charged don't worry, it just means the script reported back "0". also that means your message most likely didn't send

or did it actually charge you?

    Didn't actually charge me :)

i can put them in alphabetical order i suppose. what appears there is the login name you gave which isn't necessarily the phone number

    sure

they're not supposed to follow to the recent numbers list, i think it'd confuse things. if you want to send to the last group you sent a message to you can press more->restore previous. i can make it so the names appear easily enough

    sure why not

i'm not sure what you mean. when i say "on the program" i mean on the cabbage program, on the form where you write a text you'll see a button with "more" written on it. click it, then click manage logins, click on your login then click edit and fill in the details as they should be to make sure they're right.
    nasceiri wrote: »

again i'm not sure what you mean. do you just mean log into the vodafone website as you normally would with firefox or internet explorer? why would that not be possible?

and yes you should because i think you've locked your account out

What is the experience with Cabbage Mobile on Nokia 5800 XM? How is the virtual java keyboard working with Cabbage Mobile?

The text box in cabbage is a standard java object so it'd work just like the text box in any other java program

Apologies if this has been answered but is there a way to minimize the program in Vista. The Interface Appearance setting shows an XP window with a minimize button but the actual program in Vista does not.

Great program by the way. Thanks!

    Hi Sam,
Would it be possible to extend the results box or put a scroll bar for when you type/search for contacts please? At the moment, if you search for a term that has more than I think about 10 results, you can't see below the tenth even though the cursor will go down if you keep pressing it (but you can't see how far down it goes etc).

Also, how would I change the grey to be the colour of my background on the desktop (or clear) :)

    Hi Sam,
I am unable to send messages via 02 at the moment, have you had any other reports of it currently not working? The server I am using is http://cabaal.org/cabbage/send.php

    Cheers,
    M

i can see what you mean but it's not really meant to be used like that. the idea is you type the first few letters of the name so there's only one or two to choose from and then pick one. you shouldn't be typing one letter and then scrolling down through most of your phone book. if you want to select a name from the full contact list you can use the listbox on the right

at the moment you can't but it's something i'll consider adding

is o2 still giving you problems?

btw you should change your server to http://cabbagetexter.com/send.php because i'm gradually migrating everything over there

I know what you mean alright and I'd probably be the only one who uses cabbage the way I do, but it's actually a really handy app for looking up numbers of customers etc and if what I remember of the customer I'm looking for is that they need a piano moved and I know I've put piano beside their name, then if I type piano in, I get more than 10 results, and they may be down the bottom so I can't see them :o

By the way, I've not had the start up problem since I last mentioned it, it's started up every time now so maybe the first time was indeed a cache problem and I didn't even download the fixed version :)

that's a very specialist requirement and as i say it's not really meant for that so if you really need to do that and there are too many on the list you can always go into c:\documents and settings\<username>\Application data\Cabbage and simply search the contacts files book.txt :)

that's good because if it hadn't worked i wouldn't have had a clue what to do :D

Cool stuff :) I'm stumped on what to annoy you next about it. Seems to be pretty much finito!

Do you think it would be possible to implement something like this on a website? Say if I had a little "request call back" box on my site, and somebody would just type in Sam Vimes 0871234567 and click submit and I'd then get a text with "Sam Vimes 0871234567" so I could call you straight back.

    done :)

there are two files attached to this post. one is a htm file that contains the form with the name and phone number boxes and a submit button and the other is a php file that sends the request. to set it up you need to go into the php file and enter your login info. the first few lines are all you need to change. these lines:
$location="http://cabbagetexter.com/send.php"; //leave as it is unless you have a good reason to change it

    $u="your phone number";
    $p="your password";
    $s="your network"; //v=vodafone o=o2 m=meteor

    $d="the destination phone number (probably your own number)";

the only parts you need to change are the $u, $p and $s ones to enter your phone number, password and network and then the $d part to enter the number you want the request to be sent to

but watch out for people abusing the system, spamming you with texts and using up all your webtexts

I have a small problem with cabbage mobile on a nokia E51 with vodafone. If my recipient number has a 00353 etc I get a "unexpected response format" error and no text is sent. I have tested this and it is repeatable. Now I know the workaround is not to use the 00353 prefix but the vast majority of my numbers are in this format for ease of use when calling from NI for work. Can you generate a fix for this where the prefix is recognised and removed if necessary. Does not work for +44 numbers either but not sure if that is a vodafone problem when texting from a net connection.

    Thanks

I've got a similiar problem to him (i.e. the same error message) in the past and I was using it on Vodafone but it appeared to happen randomly.
