Problems with new LCD TV

    Hi,

I bought a new LCD TV today, a Goodmans L19W17HDF, got it home and plugged it in. However, when I plugged it in, it tripped the fuse in the house, turning all the electric. I spoke to my parents about this who told me that they had the same thing happen to them when they bought a Goodmans LCD TV, they had a Comet electrical technician come out and he said that there was no problem with the TV and that it must just be something in the TV that fuses the house.

I them took this TV back and replaced it with a Polaroid TLU1911CU, plugged it in and the same thing happened. I know that there is not a problem with the power as eventually my parents found a TV that did work (a Venturer LCD15).

Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be or has anyone had this problem before? Any help would be much appreciated!

    Paul
