Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Youtube 'stuttering' on Firefox only (Vista Business)

Just trying to fix up a friends new laptop with Firefox, AVG etc.. and we've noticed a problem with youtube running on firefox. The laptop OS is Vista business.

Basically on Firefox, youtube stops and starts... i.e. plays with glitches throughout.. as if its not preloading as fast as it should.

The odd thing is that if I switch to IE7, it works just fine.

Im using the latest version of Firefox available. Any ideas what I'm missing?

That's odd. Were you downloading the same video in Firefox as you where in IE? I get pretty crappy download speeds too. Could there have been someone else using the bandwidth at the time or maybe it was down to Youtube moreso at that given time. I usually pause the video and let it buffer enough before watching.

Hmm.. yeah same video.. except the stutters are in firefox but not in IE7. I was testing it out on my own 2mb NTL connection at home at a time when speedtest told me I was getting 1.9 ish.. so that shouldnt be the cause. Its an odd one!

Its firefox it is a bit buggy has been for the last 4 or 5 updates although it seems to be getting a bit better although every so often it just locks up on me.

If you turn on the internet protected mode on IE7 it is fairly safe now compared to IE6 if FF is acting up it might be better for you
