Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well guys. I'm currently in Korea teaching english for a year and am thinking of trying to get a University gig out here next year which would be the sweeter jobs.

Basically I'm trying to find out what kind of qualificatons I need and how I Would go about getting them. Can you get the CELTA through online or distance learning ?

I've a BSc in IT at the mo.

    Thanks.

    Hi Monosharp,
Just wondering what's the update on your CELTA course? Did you ever find it on-line/distance learning?

I also have a BScIT, and am considering leaving it all behind to teach English in France. An on-line course would be ideal for me.

    Thanks

IF you are just looking for a "piece of paper" that says you've done a TEFL course then your online courses are the way to go.

But be careful, you'l never be able to teach in Ireland or in the UK with them. You'll also not feel confident to teach after doing them.

A "real" TEFL course won't cost a huge amount more and it might stand to you if you ever want to teach in Ireland.

A list of recognised TEFL courses can be found on the Dept of Ed website www.acels.ie
