New Laptop with Vista running a mite slow. Help?

Hello,
I have a sneaking suspicion that there might be nasty things slowing my new laptop down. Would anyone please be kind enough to check out the below hijack this log and confirm or erase my suspicions.

Looks ok on a brief scan to me. Vista is incredibly Ram hungry, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just you need more ram (1.5Gb ideal at least, 2gb perfect). Especially since you mention it's a new laptop, which means you're possibly new to Vista. Vista was slow on my laptop when I first got it, and I have 2gb of Ram.

Yeah, wasn't sure if that might be it. Just had that nagging feeling that there was something lurking about. Though seems to have perked up now. This only has 1Gb of Ram I think. Thanks for the help.

maybe check that there are no processes running in the back graound by looking at the cpu meter in task manager. no virus scanner running etc

also powersaving setting can slow the processor down if running on battery and in a max battery life mode. but if its running the same plugged in then it wouldnt be this

My laptop has 2gb of ram, and while it generally runs away fine, sometimes there can be moments of slow down...

Since i've turned off the sidebar though, this happens less & less.. So if you do want to get a small increase in speed, you could consider dropping the sidebar...

I also read somewhere that it takes a while for Vista to fully index everything on the computer, once this is complete you might notice an increase...
