    Guys,

I have a 02 A4, for the last 2 weeks or so I cannot get heat on the drivers side, on the passenger side it is luke warm even though both zone are up to 28 degrees.

Any pointers, where would you even go to get this fixed, refilled etc? Could it be fuses?

    Thanks

Heating wouldn't have anything to do with the air conditioning compressor. That's just for cooling and drying the air. Even if it did need regassing, you should still get heat.

It could be several things. A thermostat problem or possibly one of the electronic vent controls isn't working.

You could try an Audi dealer. It could be something simple or could end up costing you €€€. If you take it to a dealer you're looking at €120 plus parts minimum.

Have you tried one of the specialist Audi forums such as http://www.audiworld.com. You may get some pointers there.

More likely one of the above. Do you live in Dublin? If so Pm me. I could recommend someone to you for this problem.

AFAIK, the A/C system in an Audi and be checked for faults and the flap position motors can be tested using an appropriate diagnosis computer. It might be worth your while having this done and taking things from there.

When you do get the problem fixed, you should press the 'Auto' button on the climate control(if you haven't done so already). It does what climate control is supposed to do in the first place i.e. maintain a constant temperature in the cabin. If you use manual settings, then the car may not heat up as fast or cool down as fast as it should(especially when the car is very warm or very cold). It also reduces condensation(the air conditioning should be on for this though) in winter, because the climate control sets the fan speed and air flow automatically, when its in Auto made.

Another thing for heating up the car is to close the centre air vents. I don't know why this is, but all the owners manuals say that a car will heat up faster when the centre air vents are shut. And the air conditioning should be turned on at least once a month for 30 mins, otherwise you'll get awful smells coming from it when you try to use it again, and the system cant work properly when it doesnt get enough use.

None of this applys of course at the moment, there are many possible causes as described by people who know a lot more about climate control systems than I do as to what is wrong with your Audi at the moment.
