    Hi there,
I moved to skerries a few months ago and every day around 12 there's this smell around the kelly's bay area like sewage.
Is there a sewage plant near here or would the smell be coming from the sea?
    Thanks
    Ocj

There's a Sewerage plant (*ahem* I mean Water treatment plant) just up the road from Kelly's Bay. You can see it from the train heading north.

There can also be a foul stench coming off the beach at Barnageeragh at times. This is more due to rotting woar (seaweed) than sewage.

That can be it alright, lots of seaweed can get washed up under the cliffs at Curlew Cottage and it takes a good tide to shift it.

On a side, good to see Skerries accepting Balbriggan's waste too, hopefully the overflow at Hampton Cove won't have to be used too often, would be nice to see that stretch of coast a tad cleaner.
