Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Congratulations to Drogheda on their 1st ever league title.

Their style of play would not be my cup of tea but you can't argue with the table. A side built on defence and the signing of Guy Bates made all the difference in the end.

    Fair play to them.

Doolin had a plan, it worked.

great way to win the league, beating the second place team, at home, with a cracker of an 89th minute goal, from the new hero.

What a night! I had to go to Cork to get tickets for this game, so anything but a win would have been a big disappointment.

When Bates' superb winner hit the back of the net the explosion of joy in the stands at United Park was awesome. We've waited a lot of years for this night.

And the rest of the squad I'm sure... especially Cahill, Byrne and Baker ;)

Seriously though, well deserved win. Long may you savour it.

Congrats Drogs , frankly I hate the way they play and with the players they have they could of won the league in a much more exciting fashion but results are results .

Tbh I miss the way things were last season where most of the top sides seemed to have a Kevin Keegan at Newcastle type of approach which provided us with many great games .

The quality has gone down a little bit with the exodus of players but what worries me is teams have seemingly gone back to a more cautious approach and with Drogs success I just hope that isn't employed further .

Football doesn't have to be good , just good to watch .

Blink and you'll miss it, pathetic stuff from the Irish Independent. Has anyone seen the actual paper today? Is it any different?

Find the mirror and star best for football in general, both have decent articles about the win and yesterday had full page interviews with drogs players.
