Does anyone know what the deal was with the bums holding the John 3:7 banners near stephens green last night?

It's a Bible passage... think it says something like "It is necessary therefore to be born again."

Born again Christians. They're always in town.

“Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again”

    Edit: Damn it Dave...

Were they actually bums? If they weren't I'm sure they'll be very disappointed in being referred to as such. But then they'll forgive you again. Cos they're religious.

    Mad religions ftw!

Catholicism needs to do more PR stuff like this.

Saw them last night on grafton street at about 01:00. Good thing there was a garda riot van parked beside them, monitoring there every movement. They are a troublesome group out to cause havoc.

One of the guys had dreads. Seemed odd for a new born christian. crazy fellow

All kidding aside, who is going to take what they have to say seriously when they are holding 5 foot banners referencing a passage from the bible.

Well to be fair they don't seem to be hassling people with their views, they seem to wait for people to come up to them before they start doling out the Bible-love. I saw them last night and they were just drinking coffee, leaning on the signs and chatting to each other. I don't think Grafton Street on a Friday night is the best place to be recruiting for your religion, but they weren't bothering anyone so... meh tbh.

Saw them too, wondered what the verse meant. Was too tired to be bothered....
tbh why would they be there on a friday night?

Next time when you and your mates see it fit to display banners on Grafton St on a friday night, could you also tell us what the verse means.....
As not everyone reads the bible:D

Its a subtle trick to make you read their holy book. The fact that this thread exists is evidence of its effectiveness. Step one in the brainwashing that is religion...
