it's got everything from blues soul rock

Without a shred of analytic consideration...'Magnolia'...I'll change my mind in three seconds but I'll let that stand for the time being

Zelda and The Ocharina of Time soundtrack.
Might be a computer game but it's phenomanal

Well there are types of soundtrack: some comprise previously recorded songs, others comprise material specifically written for the film, and others comprise a combination of the two.
I have two favourite soundtracks: Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Requiem For a Dream - both featuring material especially written for the movies.

Bah! Wrong wrong wrong, bow before the majesty of Blade Runner!

I'm listening to Tangerine Dreams "Sorceror/Wager of Fear" right now oddly enough and its very good as is Thief.

    Mike.

agreed. complements and captures the imagination of the game's environment better than any film score i can think of.

Ah I'm an idiot to forget something so obvious. Now I have three favourite soundtracks: Requiem For a Dream, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and the sublime Blade Runner.

Once upon a time in the west
the brilliance of the film rests heavily on the brilliance of the music

also love the use of beethoven in A Clockwork Orange

No love for the Trainspotting soundtrack? :(
    VR!

The soundtrack to The Beach is a fantastic collection of songs, although strangely enough I've never seen the movie, heard it was sh1te so I wanted to read the book first but never got round to it.

Trainspotting is good too, although when I think of it I don't really have any other soundtracks that I can think of.

Actually I do, About A Boy by Badly Drawn Boy but it's not great. A couple of good songs on it but that's it.

Orchestral music - Braveheart and Gladiator. Going off on a slight tangent, The Prison Break soundtrack is excellent (the score, not the songs), and I like Michael Giacchino's work in Lost and Alias (although it gets a bit 'samey').

Judgement Night -A hell of a lot better than the film.
    Desperado - Sexy as hell!

Ah, yet another one I've forgotten. I'm truly an idiot.
    Revision time. Again.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
    Blade Runner
    Requiem For A Dream
Once Upon A Time In The West

That link is a big massive spoiler though. Might be a good idea to delete it (just to save your own ass, you know!)

Theme from a Summer Place.....A Summer Place, the Theme,
From a Summer Place...It's the Theme......

That's the uber "Homer's Dad" version...I suppose you could listen to the Andy Williams or Percy Faith versions if you absolutely had to.

    Recently:

OST Score Wise: Pirates3. I love this score. Critics don't seem to but it really is a fantastic album to get the spirits up!

Waiting to get the Transformers original score.

Actual Soundtrack wise? I've moved away from OSTs to original scores so I don't really have a standout OST atm

Once Upon A time in the West them

The score for Star Trek the Motion Picture is very good, its able to standalone as an orchestral epic.

For soundtracks I'd say The Crow, Singles and Batman Forever.

Scores; I really like ones for Gladiator and the Lord of The Rings trilogy.
