Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I've come to the conclusion that whenever I shave I get the dreaded "razor bumps".. I have spent a while researching this now and keep coming across Glycolic Acid..which is supposed to be some wonder product for your skin.. This has lead me to a product called "Aqua Glycolic Face Cream" which is supposed to be great..

Has anybody any experiences with products that have glycolic acid as the active ingredient or any other products that eliminate razor bumps??

Where can I find this Aqua Glycolic Face cream?? Do boots stock it??

Thanks juiceC, I'm familiar with the Baxter.. Razor bump and face repair cream that they recommend. I will buy that from 4men if I cannot find the glycolic face wash in town.

    Hi,

Some products have very harsh acids and can almost burn a layer of skin off, so try using a face wash with a mild fruit acid such as this Zirh one from House of Fraser or here ... htttp://www.4men.ie/index.php?sid=5b93734d69eaf1f6903f507bc3efd299&cl=details&anid=e6c446c3b662b17d8.71957066

Also try changing your razor every 3-4 shaves – There’s a fantastic disposable one in Aldi which is the best I've used.

    Good luck.

Today I bought a NeoStrata "ultra smoothing cream" which has Glycolic Acid as the active ingredient..
Basically, it burns away all dead skin cells and softens the skin so the hairs can penetrate the surface.

I will put it on after every shave..hopefully it will be €32:eek: well spent.

Also on the razor side of things..I have read that it is the crystals formed by dryed water on the blade that kills the edge very quikly..solution:
dip the razor in rubbing alchohol after use. This displaces any water on the blades and then the alchohol just evaporates away..(If you were bothered!!)
