Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    What annoys me about this crap is why give a heavier ruling to begin with? It gets challenged and is reduced so people always appeal knowing it's more than likely going to be reduced. So why do the same people think "oh yes sorry bout that, that was much too harsh so we'll reduce it" simply cause the ones on the receiving end say "appeal"? Makes them a joke

    I genuinely don't see how he deserves a worse punishment than any other diver. I'm firmly against what he did, just like I'm against any diver, but I don't think its fair to make a differentiation about which form of diving is punishable with a ban.

    diving to win a free kick or a penalty is one thing.

    diving to have a game abandoned is an altogether different thing.

    I'm really not sure it should be in the eyes of the authorities. They are both cheating to an equal extent and should be punished equally.

    but they arent. one is trying to win a free, one is trying to have a game abandoned. nothing equal in the extent at all.

    No. Quite often players are going down to have another player sent off. Just as bad for definite.

    Have to agree. What Dida did could almost be seen as bringing the game into disrepute. Attempting to get a game abandoned is in no way the same as diving to win a free. What he did was extremely cynical and nothing short of an embarassment to himself, his teammates and the great club he plays for. I'd have banned him for 3 games at least, let it be seen that this sort of nonsense won't be tolerated.

    hmmm... i'm more with DSB on this. It would be difficult to base punishment on the "intentions" of the misdemeanour. Though, Dida really did push that boundary...

    Funny thing is, the appeal never did mention the reduction in the fine of 60,000 francs....
