for me a milestone in thrash metal, can easily be held up alongside ride the lightning, rust in peace and reign in blood as genre defining albums. Anthrax's finest hour without a shadow of a doubt.

i cannot believe it took me to be the first person to suggest this album in the first place (over two months into the discussion )

"Respect the badge - He earned with his blood"
Feckin great album - Anthrax' best IMO.

I prefer John Bush singing than Belladonna tho.
Jesus ,Scott Ian looks manky with his mullet!

Now in fairness, they all look mank with the terrible, terrible hair !

I was just listening to this earlier, hadn't heard it in ages. Great album. So many awesome songs on it. I do think that John Bush is a better singer than Belladonna though, glad I got to see Anthrax with Bush a few years ago

The mid 80's for me was probably the worst period in metal, bands like deep purple and sabbath were spent, american poodle hair bands were the vanguard of metal and spandex was everywhere. I tuned out completely and started getting into blues, prog and psychadelia and then Kerblammo! Thrash metal is here and everything changed.

Anthrax for me were one of the stand out bands, and this is their finest hour. They understood their audience, who were into extreme sports, and Graphic novels. Also forget about run dmc/aerosmith beastie boys, because Anthrax and Public enemy were the really blend of hip hop and metal which hasn't been matched since

This album was constantly on my walkman during 87-89 and I blame my chronic tinnitis on it. Still great stuff
