Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How do you find them generally? I know it depends on the particular club... so I suppose the question is 'how do you like yours'.
I'll be looking to join one next year, but have wondered if they can be good craic, or very political...

Like you said it depends where you go. In my experience anywhere with a large concentration of horses and people lead to politics. Sometimes it can e very hard to negotiate the intircacies of well-established cliques.

www.airc.ie will have a full list of clubs - check out you local ones and then see whether they specialise in a sport that you like..

well Green Valley and Foxborough would be the closest to me at the moment... I dunno really, I like the look of Tinahely as well.

You guys seem to have some great RC's in the Dublin / Wicklow area.. I hang out with a great local one (not joined properly as moving to WM hopefully in Jan) who do a bit of everything.. but the closest ones to the area we are trying to move to seem to be SJ obsessed! They don't really do anything else which is a shame.. I like a bit of variety!

Perhaps I'll just have to get them interested in other stuff! :TheBhatchesaplan:

    Hi Fits,

Im in the riding club since i have been 17 im now 23 and i have to say it is absolutly great craic, I love the riding club, there is so much out there for the riding club people to enjoy, and it caters for people who are starting off our just back in the saddle after a few years break, upto the advance open which would be jumping 120, Im in cheval riding club check out our website www.chevalridingclub.com , I have met so many people through the riding club and have made so many new freinds out there, and within our own riding club we organise weekends away outings and events,
I can speak truly for my riding club that we are not a political or clicky riding club, i cannot therefore speak for other riding clubs doh,
    Good Luck ;)

Your more than welcome to join ours fits! we are based in kildare taking menberships for 2008 now. Im joint secretary, PR and social sec so I keep in touch with everyone by email.
Some clubs can be obsessively competitive (esp in our region where its jumping obsessed) but on the whole everyone is nice and supportive

P.s. the tinehealy guys are lovely too.

Hi Flashdance I see your from cheval we have probably been at some of the same comps before? did you do the festival?

Ooh its a long way to Kildare from me though...

I've always had a good feeling/vibe from the Tinahely club. Although Foxborough and Green Valley seem excellent too.
