Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anybody know of a concrete release date for this player? Do people think its the answer to the Blu-Ray v. HD-DVD war? Price in UK will be approx £600, $999, or about €900. Samsung claim it will be fully compliant with both formats unlike the earlier LG combi effort.

Review of a test version here: http://www.hdguru.com/?p=184

One interesting point the reviewer makes is that Paramount and Dreamworks have plumped for HD-DVD and the Hollywood studios are now split roughly 50-50 betwwen the two formats. If this is correct the format war will drag on for sure now.
