Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless Connection

    I have an Eircom wireless account that includes the Netopia router(wireless + wired). I have a HP laptop that allows me to connect via the router to the net using the wireless solution. However when for instance I am in the city center my laptop cannot pick up a signal from any wireless connections even though other ppl with laptops in the same place as me can. I click on refresh networks and the laptop seems to search but never finds any. Is there a setting I am missing here. As I said when at home it finds my wireless network in the house. Would this be an issue of distance or am I missing a setting as others can find networks with laptops in the same place as I am.

    Where are you trying to connect? Is it a public hotspot? Or a private one?

    Right don't know what card you have but I had a simular problem a while back with my wireless.

    Try the following:

    1. Start -> run -> Type "%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s" and hit enter

    2.Look through the list of services and you should come accros one called windows zero configuration, if its not started right click it and start it.

    Hope this helps

    This is a long shot but is your wireless network connection switch off with some power save option? i.e do you plug in the laptop for power at home and when away from home do you run off battery? Sorry if that seems like a silly suggestion.
