A quick question on behalf of a Friend of mine. He is currently 21 and studying for a level 5 in social care in the local plc center they told him he could repeat his maths there also as he did foundation and passed but needs ordinary level to get into social care in CIT or WIT next year.

The plc center's maths class's are clashing with his work experience and he cannot attend them whats the easiest way for him to retake his maths this year?

To retake Maths in the Leaving Cert you don't actually need to be studying anywhere - you could just apply to sit the exams somewhere, sometime. When you say 'work experience' does that mean that it's only for a few weeks? If so, it might be worthwhile getting in contact with the teacher/tutor/person giving the classes to arrange notes or catch-up classes.

But there are many different areas where he could look for tutoring help. Even if you wander over to the Leaving Certificate board, and you put up a question, you'll more then often find an answer from someone especially if it's related to Maths. If they're willing to pay, there are usually more then enough private tutors around to give grinds, plus other schools (which like to call themselves colleges) do have Maths classes too. So there are options there.

One last idea - would a different plc center have the maths classes at a different time?
