Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Looking for some self-powered speakers to use with a laptop and mixer.. Any ideas where to get them in Dublin?? All the places I've checked only stock either small personal ones for MP3 players and standard desktop PC speakers or huge PA types.. Just looking for a good set, for some meaty house parties

    Whats your budget?

    When you say huge pa types...whats huge to you?

    Buy from Europe!! I bought these a few years back;

    from Thomann (as well as loads of other gear) and found them to be cheaper than buying locally. I don't have these monitors any more but they were amazing when I had them and they're much cheaper now than when I bought them.

    I'd second SuprSi's recommendation to buy from Europe. Take a look here from something that fits your budget/other requirements. Apart from Behringer, other brands to look at would be Edirol, Yamaha or M-audio. Or something like Genelec if you have loads of money to throw around.

    Note that these speakers are designed for studio monitoring, not as party/PA speakers, but they seem to fit your requirements and will give you a decent punch and amazing clarity.

    You would really want a speaker that gives very good low end. Let the sub do all the work.

    I have these http://www.behringer.com/E1520A/index.cfm?lang=eng run it with a kool 1700W amp, and a 00DJ http://www.pcdj.co.uk/shop/item.php?id=35 Full bass and good top. I usually put them on thier side and use them like PA monitors. I would also reccomend Thomann, good service, and speedy shipping.
